Île Alphonse is a tiny, uninhabited sand island in the Alphonse Group. It lies in the reef system between Île Alphonse and Saint François. Depending on the tides and sand shifts, the land area is small and sometimes appears as a dot on maps or is missing entirely.
There is no infrastructure or permanent mooring on the island. For travelers, it primarily serves as a landmark within the atoll. From a natural perspective, Bijoutier is important as a resting place for seabirds and as part of the shallow-water habitat within the reef. It is often omitted from maps because it is so small and its visible area changes throughout the year.
