Anse Royale is located on the east coast of Mahé. A reef protects the beach, and the water is often calm. Just offshore lies the small island of Île Souris. You can snorkel around it when the sea is calm.

The town has shops and restaurants. Nearby is the spice garden Le Jardin du Roi.
