At the southern edge of the atoll ring, space opens up. Water, wind, and horizon define the scene.
The uninhabited island lies in the southern part of the Manaha island group within the Cosmoledo Atoll. Manaha Milieu and Manaha North are in close proximity, together forming a section of the atoll ring. Other islands, such as Wizard Island and Boudeuse Cay, are also relatively nearby and contribute to the overall structure of the atoll.
There is no infrastructure on land. The island is flat, barren, and highly exposed to the elements. Its significance derives from its location and function. Manaha Sud marks part of the outer boundary of the lagoon and is integrated into the interplay of reefs, channels, and shallow water zones. It is primarily mentioned in expedition reports, research documents, and conservation reports.
