The Amirantes consist of flat coral islands with little infrastructure. They are particularly suitable for nature-oriented travel.

The Alphonse Group lies southwest of the main islands and is known for exclusive resorts and high-quality diving and fishing grounds.

The Farquhar group is extremely remote and only accessible by charter flight. It is hardly developed for tourism.

The Aldabra group is one of the largest atolls in the world and is under strict nature protection. Access is highly regulated.

The Cosmoledo group consists of uninhabited atolls and is particularly relevant for research and nature conservation.

The Southern Coral Islands comprise several small and remote islands with virtually no infrastructure.
